The best lures being rapalas and flicker shad in a firetiger pattern, however the fish have started biting a color called gold speckled shiner flicker shad. Nightcrawlers with a bobber are still tearing it up. Great news for you crappie fishermen 4 crappie were caught during the week, along with a couple of bass, large and small mouth. Oh, and a 31b. catfish. The lake is still filling slowly. The fishing pier in mohawk is now floating. The carp are still all over the place as usual.
Tidbits: Some people like eating carp. Grass carp can attain a weight of 55 lbs.

With the weather warming up but not the water, the trout bite is starting to pick up again.Fish are coming in from 3 to 6 pounds and being very acrobatic, jumping flying through the air. Troll firetiger patterns and increase trotting speed slightly more than normal. Drifting crawlers on a bobber will do the job also.
