http://www.friendsofrollo.comHi Folks:
Things here appear to be going quite well. Tom Dale and Greg Hibbs, our
mechanic/electrician/engine installers, worked all three days of the Labor
Day weekend from 8:30am to 8:00pm.
Last night we fired up the starboard engine and ran it for a half hour. It
sounded great and fired up as soon as we hit the button. I was thrilled.
Our plans are to have the port engine running by 3:00pm today and taking the
RP for a spin down the bay. Center engine will hopefully be ready to start
by Tuesday afternoon as we need a few more parts that were not available
over the weekend. Tuesday evening we'll take another bay cruise with all
three engines running.
Sunday we got the last coat of paint done topside, tackle bench painted and
teak trim oiled.
We also got the 3rd coat of varnish on the bridge doors this morning.
We were finally able to clear the galley of all paint supplies, so Anthony
is sanding and varnishing the teak trim on the tables.
Eddie is helping Billy weld on the bow bait tank and cleaning all three
wells. We made improvements to all three wells which required some cutting
of foam and fiberglass, and then re-glassed.
We are also grinding and chipping on the deck to prepare for new deck which
we will do next Saturday and Sunday,
Frank
