The weather this week has been beautiful, fall patterns for temperature and winds have started. Early mornings are cold in the mid 40's to low 50's rising to about the low 70's at mid-day. The water temperature took a rapid decrease as the surface temperature is sitting at 62 degrees this week. Fishing has been excellent this week with many anglers hooking up into nice fish. The hot bite this week is still catfish.

For catfish most anglers have been fishing in the narrows and out at the dam. Find cover in the water either fallen trees or rock walls. A few catfish have been caught out of the deep-water channels as well. Best baits to use would be either anchovies or night crawlers I would also recommend using cut sardines.

For stripers most anglers have been catching them on bait either anchovies, chicken liver. The stripers are boiling early mornings from around 8 a.m.-11 a.m. and in the evening from about 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Most anglers have been caught in deeper water out by the dam.

Trout are starting to show up with the drastic change in water temperature. Most of the trout being caught right now are on the smaller side but it's a great sign that people are starting to catch them. If you do go after trout most anglers are getting them on either power bait or power eggs. I would also recommend jigging a small kastmaster or a mice tail.
