GENERAL CONDITIONS: Fishing overall, is slowly picking back up. Several limits of trout were reported caught this past week, but no whoppers. Mt. Lassen trout farm will be planting another 500 lbs. of trout later on this week. The lake filled up a little thanks to the rain. Visibility remains a little muddy from the rain, but it won't take long for this to clear up once calm weather is back. Current surface water temperature remains about 51 degrees.

HOURS: The Cafe and Marina are open from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM ; boat rentals stop at 4:00, boats are due in at 5:00 PM.

PLANTS: 500 pounds of rainbow trout are expected later this week.

TROUT: Trout fishing is beginning to pick up again despite the rain affecting the water clarity. Trolling Rapalas are still been producing several limits. Currently, the hotspots for trolling are by the Island and Half Moon Bay. Racoon Point, Coots Landing and Indian Cove continue to be great spots to fish. Power Bait continues to be the best bait to use when fishing from shore. Racoon Point is the current hotspot for fishing on shore. Several limits of trout were caught on Sunday.

BASS: In the past several weeks, a lot of bass were report caught in the 2
lbs. range. Bass Cove and the island are hotspots to throw out Senkos, and crank bait.

CATFISH: Currently catfishing remains slow with no reports this week. Try fishing open bail and let them take it - if you try to set the hook too soon the only thing you'll catch is water. In the winter catfish don't take the bait aggressively and might hit or shake the bait without swallowing. Give them a minute to grab ahold before you set the hook.

CRAPPIE: Several weeks ago an angler reported a (caught and released) 2 pounder.

WHOPPERS: None reported to Marina staff.
