The East is still running at about 140 cfs, there’s been a little traffic down there and most of the reports we’re getting are pretty decent with most anglers reporting at least a few fish and some anglers getting up to around 10 a day. The weather was. kind of bad this past week but on the nicer days the fishing was pretty good. We haven’t heard much from the Rosachi section lately but the Scerine fished pretty good last week so the Rosachi should be fishing ok as well. There are still lots of rainbows showing up on the Cali side but there has been a few more browns around this past week. We also found out that the DFW planted some cutthroat in the river last season so there should be some cutts around as well. Most of the action has still been nymphing but there’s been some fish being caught here and there on streamers as well.
Recommended Flies:
WD040 in olive and gray, zebra midge, copper john, san juan worm, miracle nymph, flashback emerger, pheasant tail, moal leech, zuddler, dead drift crayfish, double bunny, sculpzilla.
FYI - The Nevada Department of Wildlife is re-vamping their fishing/hunting license program and will be sending Ken's a computer license terminal in February for our customers to purchase Nevada licenses. During the change over I have been asked to send in all my paper license books on January 1 so they can be reconciled with the department. This means that I will not be able to sell any Nevada licenses for about 4 to 8 weeks after the first of the year. If you're planning a trip to fish Nevada waters during this time be sure to get your license ahead of time, either online or from a Nevada license dealer! I'll keep you posted when my terminal arrives and we're online!
