As the the water temp warmed, so did the mediocre bass bite that we have been experiencing the last month. The fish are still scattered anywhere from 2' to 60' in the water column. In areas where silversides are present, some anglers reported seeing breaking fish, as did Larry Snow of Eucalyptus Hills, who connected with a fat 61b. largie on a topwater. On this last Sunday another fisherman weighed in an 8 lb bass at the scale on the dock. The only information received of this catch was that it fell for a live shiner. Catfish also began to stir as Matt Green of El Cajon can attest to. Green caught and released 2 nice blues that went 14Ibs, and 26Ibs. on cut mackerel in the Barona arm.

WEEK ENDING: 1-15-18 WATER TEMPERATURE: 59 The bass bite showed some improvement over the last week, as most anglers were able to score a few for their efforts. Drop shotting down to 60' of water accounted for most of the fish, although there still are some largemouth on the bank taking reaction baits such as rip baits, and swimbaits. Catfish, and panfish went unreported to the concession. The Bass fishing has been good with fish up to 2 pounds. PLEASE CONTACT THE MARINA AT 619-390-1918 FOR......
