Another week of difficult fishing comes from the Mazatlan region, and for the first time since I've been reporting for that area, no billfish were reported being caught. The dorado are currently the focus for the offshore action, with most of the boats having a shot a a few 12-20 lb. fish for dinner, each day. The inshore super pangas have ventured offshore for a few days and have managed a few dorado for their anglers, too, in addition to the regular inshore bottom fish. Overall counts for the offshore cruisers, reporting for 19 days fished, reflected 73 dorado and the inshore super pangas, reporting for 5 fishing days reflected 16 dorado, 14 pargo, 55 mojarras and 12 cochitos.

Mazatlan Climate: Partly cloudy with temps from 74 nights to 92 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Mostly calm with water temps stable at 84 degrees throughout the area.

Best Bait/Lure: Not reported

Best Fishing Area: At the shark buoys.
