http://www.lakejennings.orgThe lake is open daily from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. for fishing, boating, kayaking, paddle-boating, and fun for the whole family!
Spawning Bass are the talk of the lake this week. Many large Bass in the double digits have been caught and many more have been seen lurking around the lake protecting their nests. Brown Rubber Crawdads seem to be working well!
Not to be out done this Spring are the Catfish. Spring is usually a good time for some large Catfish here at Lake Jennings and that was proven last weekend by Cody Ledbetter and Peter Banaga who pulled in a beautiful Blue Catfish topping the scales at 33lbs! The large blue was caught on the handicapped accessible dock using Mackeral. These two also pulled in a nice 6 lb. bass to round out the day.
And of course Trout were the main target of most Anglers and the Trout did not disappoint. Numerous limits were taken all around the Lake, especially in Cloister Cove, Siesta Cove and Half-moon. Power Bait seemed to reel in the most, with Silver and Gold Kastmasters and Roostertails providing good numbers as well.
1500 lbs. of hungry Rainbows hitting the lake this week should keep the bite going this weekend.
New hours at the lake are in effect open Friday-Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the campground shoreline is open for shore fishing 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the rest of the week.
There is one more New Moon Fishing coming up before we get back into summer night fishing season. Saturday, April 14th the lake will be open until 10:00 p.m.!
Cody Ledbetter and Peter Banaga caught this 33 lb. blue catfish on mackeral at the Handicapp accessible dock! It was a good day, they also caught a 6 lb. bass!
