The Mazatlan Fish Report- The Aries Sportfishing Fleet

The blue marlin have shown up and moved in close, inside the 20 mile mark. High boat for the week was Captain Victor Nunez, aboard the "Aries II", with 3 blue marlin for the week. According to Geronimo Cevallos, the numbers of charters is very slow but the fishing has improved considerably. The fish counts for the offshore waters included 6 sailfish and 7 blue marlin, along with good numbers of dorado in the 15-20 lb. ranges. The inshore super pangas are doing very well with the dorado at the shark buoys and the action continues to be fast with most having easy limit fishing.

Mazatlan Climate: Raining the past two days, but no wind and calm seas, temps from

Sea Conditions: Calm, temps from 82-83, both inshore and offshore.

Best Fishing Area: At the shark buoys for dorado and for the blue marlin, too.

Best Bait/Lure: Live bonito for the blue marlin and even for the dorado. Sailfish mostly on the rigged baits.
