http://www.sportfishingreport.comMy wife told me it was time for her to get out and go fishing for a day, who was I to say no. She decided to ask a few friends to come along of which 3 had never been fishing before and they were all game to try. I called Sea Landing to make sure that the Stardust was open party for Sunday, after a yes answer I quickly reserved 9 spots for the trip. We got on the road early Sunday morning and headed for Santa Barbara. We were greeted by the ever pleasent crew and were under way right on time. We made a quick stop at the bait barge for a nice mix of anchovies and sardines and were soon headed to Santa Rosa Island. We all enjoyed a great breakfast of burritos and sandwiches to start the day fully charged. Once in the area, everyone found there spot on the rail and waited for that words "let 'em go". My wifes best friend had never been on a boat, let alone fishing, within seconds I heard a shreek and her saying somethings pulling. She quickly set the hook and reeled in a nice blue bass, she dropped right back down and was bringing up a nice double of reds. Everyone on the boat was bringing up fish and the crew was kept busy bagging the fish. The wife had to show me up on this trip and caught a 10lb whitefish (which won the jackpot), guess she has the bragging rights until the next trip. Cudos to her for giving the entire jackpot to the crew. Our friends were very impressed with the crew for their efforts and are already planning another trip to do it again. I would also like to say thanks to Capt Luke and the crew for another outstanding day on the water. Give the Stardust a call at 805-963-3564 and reserve your spots, they are currently running 3/4 day trips every Friday and Sunday during the summer. Half day trips are run daily. If you would like any of the pictures, you can email me at john@sportfishingreport.com.
