Happy Independence Day Everyone!

We watched a spectacular Big Bay Boom fireworks show anchored up as close as possible to the launching barge.  It was awesome!

After getting bait, we spent a good portion of the night trying for a night bite, and although we saw pretty good sign of big bluefin, they were reluctant to bite.

After daylight, we did not see many big fis, although we scratched up 11 mixed bluefin and yellowfin out of a couple of stops.  The bluefin were 30-35#, the yellowfin around 12-15#.

unfortunately the tuna stopped showing by 0800, so we spent the rest of the day kelp paddy fishing and ended up with 36 yellowtail in the 8-18# class.

All in all, a very fun day of mixed bag offshore fishing and an awesome fireworks show!
