Hi Gang,

What a great day of wahoo fishing we just had. We rolled into the area just after breakfast and it took little time to get our first strike. Hook Up! When the dust had settled we had 8 wahoo on the deck. A nice start. A few more stops later and we were putting together a nice day on wahoo. Most of our fish came on the casting jigs, bombs and Raider or Catchy Tackle jigs. The technique for getting the hook into the fish when fishing the casting jig is extremely important. 50# test line to get a little more drag pressure, wind through the bight for at least 10 seconds to insure that the hook gets in the fish, minimal rod movement, and always keep the reel in high gear to keep tension on the line. The guys that consitantly used this technique are the guys that had the most success. We had a midday lull, caught a few yellowtail, and then had a couple more wahoo stops as the sun was going down. It was  a very good day here at Alijos Rocks. Chef Brian was on point with a beautful dinner of fresh seared Ahi. The wine paired with dinner was a Kunde Merritage. Our weather is very nice and we will be staying here tonight. Life is Good. Thanks for checking in, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
