http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=537The water temperature this week has dropped slightly to about 70 degrees for most of the week. The catfish have been the hot ticket this week with chicken liver and anchovies being the main bait that anglers are using to reel them in. From shore the Hetch Hetchy group camp site or the handicap dock on the west beach are where you are going to want to soak your bait. By boat you are going to want to target the many structures in the water such as fallen trees or cattails. The stripers are still going ballistic with top water rubbers being the number one lure still pulling them. The striper schools hang out in heron bay in the morning and move towards the upper narrows as the weather starts to heat up and are usually off the top of the water by 12:00 pm. Bait wise the anchovies are still their favorite you can drift them by the shore or if you are fishing from shore cast them into the deep water. The small and the largemouth bass have been picky but are still out there the small mouth seem to like the Jr. spooks and with the water level dropping, Frog lures are going to start becoming a good option to use as well. The redworms seem to be a favorite if you are trying to bait fish for the bass also nightcrawlers as well, sitting these worms near weed mats seems to produce results. Tiny panther martin spinners being trolled near shore work also the redworms on tiny hooks are always a favorite out here for the perch.
