http://www.sportfishingreport.comSanta Barbara Island would be the destination for our recent SFR overnight charter on the Mirage out of Port Hueneme Sportfishing. After discussing the current fishing conditions with Captain Joe and the other anglers aboard we all agreed that Santa Barbara Island gave us our best shot at landing some trophy fish. We were fishing by daybreak and soon had a nice Black Seabass to the boat for our efforts. We moved around a bit before we found some fish willing to bite. We hooked and land a couple of nice 20 + pound class yellows that got a lot of hearts racing. Then Greg Spitzer hooked and landed a huge White Seabass that had everyone saying "Daaaammmmmmm!!!! thats a nice seabass" We moved around the island but couldn't get anymore big boys to play so we anchored up and spent some time loading up on monster whitefish. We gave the exotics one last attempt before calling it a day and heading for home. Captain Joe and the crew were awesome as usual and we always look forward to fishing on the Mirage.
