Lake Selmac Fishing Report

OR Department of Fish & Wildlife Staff

Report Date:

Public access is back open at all of the Selmac Lake campgrounds and boat ramps. Recent water tests show that Lake Selmac is now free of blue green algae. Other aquatic weeds are beginning to die back and this should free up additional bank fishing access.

Fishing for bass and other warmwater species has been good. The lake is still warm, so fishing will be best early or late in the day. Lake Selmac has a lot of aquatic vegetation, but it has been dying off. Still, anglers will have to adjust their techniques and locations accordingly.
