Brian Kiyohara brought his 22 anglers home from a five-day trip aboard the American Angler on August 3.

"We fished offshore, at Cedros, Benitos, back to Cedros and offshore again," said Matt Salas as the fish were being offloaded. "I got quite a few on my jigs."

Rick Endo of San Carlos won first place for a homeguard fish, a 45.2-pound yellowtail. He said he nabbed it with a 5/0 Mustad hook tied to 40-pound Ande line on an Accurate 870 reel and a Calstar 700 M rod.

"It took about 15 minutes," said Rick. "He's my best yellowtail."

Ken Fujimoto of Torrance won second place for a 38.8-pounder, and Fred Sato of Montebello took third place with his 37.8-pound yellowtail.
