Fishing on the Nehalem has been slow to fair, but October is prime time for the fall run. Trolling herring or spinners in the bay is generally the most productive.
Coho salmon are in the Nehalem now and will be through October. Anglers are reminded that there is NO RETENTION of wild coho in the Nehalem River this year; only adipose fin clipped coho may be retained.
Sea run cutthroat are present in good numbers on the North Coast this year, and are throughout the basin.
