Chinook salmon and steelhead season is open from the river mouth to Nook Creek through Dec. 31. The Southwest zone recently received significant rain and flows are back on track for the year. As of Nov. 27, the temporary strike indicator/bobber rule has been lifted. Beginning January 1, 2019, wild Steelhead may be harvested one per day and three per year as part of the daily or annual salmon/steelhead bag limit. Anglers are encouraged to drop hatchery fish snouts in the kiosk at the Port of Brookings cleaning station (instructions on how to remove and package snouts are available at the kiosk). Please see the southwest zone regulation exceptions in the regulations book for more details.
