The good news we are still getting a great trout plant from the Willow Beach Hatchery. Our local anglers Del Pragnell (white shirt)and his side kick Walter Waite ( dark shirt) are showing their limits of Rainbow Trout. They were fishing in the community park area using power bait. The other news is the striper bite is slow to not so much. We are getting no news of stripers here along the Colorado river or up on Lake Mohave. I have a report of some being spotted near the dam on the lake but no hook ups as of yet. Our weather getting a little bit more comfortable the bite should pick up. The smallmouth Bass are active and running in the 1 to 3 pound range they seem to be in pre spawn along with the Largemouth Bass. I have been in contact with our city and it looks good for another striper derby soon. I will be keeping all informed as we get the details worked out. No word from the Topock Marsh area as of yet. This also should be starting up as the wild pig kill should be done and our weather is cooperating its time for some great out door adventures. I know it sounds a bit dismal for fishing but it will pick up and soon so keep trying.
