We saw very, very good sign of fish once located and they appeared to be user friendly, even sticking around the boat - but it was tough to get a bite. So, the gang resorted to lighter line, smaller hooks and lots of hard work at the rail in order to get bites and persistence paid off for some.
Now that everyone aboard has a few Bluefin tuna to share with family and friends - we're moving to point south trying for a different species.
As always, morale is high and everyone is having a great time

Capt. Brian checked in tonight to report a very therapeutic beginning to this trip, fishing tuna in beautiful weather. It was one of those days that many have not experienced for a long while....the kind of action where there are a few going all day - just drifting and plunking away til dark. For this Catchy Tackle group (with a strong 90% return rate), it was a breath of fresh air as these folks have been taunted by these tuna for the past 3 seasons. Mother Nature......

Capt. Ray and guys rolled back in from Rocky's Opener this morning with a beautiful catch of Bluefin and yellowtail. The yellowtail were quality size and the Bluefin ranged from 18-71.8lbs. This group of regulars (a few new guys -friends of Rocky in the business of saving lives and property) were all in high spirits and the camaraderie was evident.
