Today’s Fish Count: 9 Boats and 184 Anglers.

939 Rockfish, 240 Whitefish, 7 Lingcod, 18 Sculpin, 2 Sheephead, 1 Bonito, 7 Barracuda, 4 Halibut, 14 Calico Bass, 2 Yellowtail, and 97 White Seabass.

If you can cast, your chances of catching a Seabass are pretty good right now. The local island boats are getting these fish on red tube baits, but it’s important to cast them far, and work them slow. For many anglers this can be challenging, but the rewards are huge. The overnight boats fishing the outer islands, it’s a bit different. Using live bait on a dropper loop rig has been the most productive method thus far. Things are only starting to get good around here, but don’t wait. These bites are like a bonfire. The hotter they burn the faster they fizzle.
