As expected there were dozens of dorado circling the boat before dawn. Capt. Norm assembled the troops and the fish came jumping into the boat. Small fish went into the live well and larger fish were tagged and released, and a few were sampled. Tissue samples will be studied using mitochondrial DNA assays to see if there are separate dorado populations along the Mexican coast.

This afternoon some debris was spotted and it was holding hundreds of dorado. Several more fish were tagged along with a handful of samples. Our first yellowfin tuna came on this stop and there are now a few swimming in the port well. The weather is great and tomorrow we hope for more success with the tuna and have our fingers crossed for that little shark.
