Warming continues with wonderfully clear night skies and the moon is sliding into its dark phase so this will also improve fishing according the fishing gurus..

The stock truck did not arrive this week but BFEF stocked fish.

BAIT: Crawlers STILL THE HOTTEST BAIT and will probably remain for the season, but power-worms are working, bubblegum micetails, salmon eggs on a mosquito #10 hook. Floating a worm behind a bobber with 4 feet of 2 pound leader on a #10 mosquito hook, and easy to release if you don't want the fish.

LURES: Buoyants, rooster tails, Kastmasters, and the ever elusive Hot Shot gold and red……..ah to see another!

FLY AND BUBBLE: .Is kicking off some nice trout in the evenings before the bats start feeding. Small Grey flies like #16 mosquito, griffith's gnat, elk hair caddis, grey hackle yellow with a red tail or a grey tail. Try a few stream dries like stimulators, and even small hopper's. Of course the acridness of black ants will always do well if you get near the shore and light cast with a smaller bubble and less water, that's always a great way to spend the evening.

FLY RODS: Olive Woolly buggers, caddis galore (white, elk hair, moths or caddis) Chernobyl ants, some small foam hoppers, unless you want to work the bottom then you probably will do what you always do in that area.

BACKCOUNTRY: No report except mine, and that's always good on dries, black gnats, small GHY's ) grey hackle yellows, mosquitoes and light Cahill's. Plenty of Moths cruising the bushes in search of something or just trying to lengthen their life span, who knows. But keep your fly high and dry, and every cast blow off the water or dip it in dry "stuff" of your choice. I like Frog's Fanny, a bit fluffy but does work well.

BACKCOUNTRY: Improving daily so start with standard dry flies, mosquitoes, black gnats, elk hair caddis (naked) grey hackle yellow's, Griffith's Gnats etc. If they get picky you'll have to try smaller flies of the above.

NOTE: If the trout bleeds don’t throw it back into the lake, it will die and IT ATTRACKS BEARS. If you care about the resource please be careful when releasing fish back into the water.
