http://www.sportfishingreport.comOur last charter of the year turned out to be an ultra light load aboard the TRULINE out of 22nd Street Landing with only 12 anglers. We were greeted by Capt Jon Watanabe and his wife, who had prepared a really nice spread of hors'de vors as we boarded. As we enjoyed the food she prepared, several folks decided to start getting some lines wet early and started trying to get some mackeral with their sabuki jigs. They made a few mackeral and also got a few croaker, plus a few short barracauda were around to get you excited as you brought in little ones. Once everyone was aboard Capt Jon had his safety briefing and left it up to us to decide on where to fish the next day, the concensous was to fish Clemente for Yellowtail early and then look arounf for rockfish later in the day. We held our raffle shortly after for some SEAGUAR FLOUROCARBON and some SFR White Seabass T-shirts. After one of the smoothest rides out to Clemente that I have ever had, some us us were uo by 4:30am and wetting our lines. The first fish honors went to John Knoble with a 5.1 pound Calico and got everyone excited of things to come. Unfortunetly, the Yellowtail never showed, but we did manage some nice Calico and a couple Bonito in the morning. We topped off the day with some rockfishing to fill our bags. Our final count for the day was 28 Calico, 2 Bonito, 100 Rockfish,20 Sheephead, 20 Sculpin and 50 Whitefish. A special thanks to Capt Jon and his crew for working hard to get us on fish and making sure we all had a great day. If you would like any of these pictures, you can email me at john@sportfishingreport.com. Until next year, have a safe and happy holidays.
