"Yesterday we had a spectacular day with action from dawn until dusk, catching 63 tuna and 23 wahoo anchored up all day. The tuna were 100 to 180 pounds, with the average fish around 150 pounds, and another half a dozen or more fish in the high hundreds, 198 to 205 pounds. We got one standout fish at 226 pounds. All in all, it was just what we were looking for what a great way to get started.
"My favorite line from some of the first timers, ???Is it always like this?' I would think not. We had great action on the kite and balloons and flyline as well, only a few fish on the chunk with really no standouts. So far this morning only a few tuna and 22 wahoo. We see the fish around; they're just not hitting yet.
