Last week at Lake Cachuma we had high winds and the lake was restricted to large boats periodically. A 5 lb. bass were caught as well as catfish and trout by one angler using night crawls on Tuesday. The angler wouldn’t give us his fishing spots. Catfish have been the story of the week. We’ve seen at least a dozen 4-5 pounders this week, caught on garlic worms and power baits. 3 largemouth bass were caught on a jig. Each was about 3.5 pounds and caught in an undisclosed location.

The winds have picked up this week! The water level has continued to drop. Bluegill and Catfish have been very active, and the catches have been plentiful! Sail Cove has been truing out some good sized bluegill. Catfish are being reported all over, averaging about 4-5 pounds. Some good size bass were caught off the dock this week also averaging 7-9 pounds. ......
