The mid-week bite on sailfish out to the west of Zihuatanejo Bay was producing well from about 15 miles off, as the water became cleaner and warmer, (82 degrees). The areas out to the south and southwest were very slow with off-colored greenish waters and tmps at about 80 degrees. Even the jack cravelle bite was offshore some 10-plus miles and it made fishing difficult and confusing, not knowing if the strike was a sailfish or jack cravelle. No marlin reported for the week. The area is alive with bonito as the sardinas moved into the area with the cooler inshore waters which should begin to reflect an improved fishing result after the full moon phase.

IZ Climate: Sunny, warm and pleasant climate. Temps from 69 nights to 90 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Mostly calm waters this week but streaky water conditions, cooler off to the south & southwest and warmer out to the west.

Best Fishing Area: Out to the west, starting at about 10 miles and beyond.

Best Bait/Lure: Rapala Magnums working best for the jack cravelle and sailfish. Seemed like the downrigger trolled rigged baits and rapalas were doing the job well.
