  • We received a surprise delivery of 300 lbs. of trout from California Department of Fish and Wildlife last week! Our next trout stocking of 1,500 lbs. from Wrights Rainbows will be this week. 
  • Trout season is also a great time to fish for catfish. Fisherman have reported catching their limits during our last New Moon Fishing evening in November. Someone pulled a 62.3 lb. Blue Catfish out of Siesta Cove this weekend!
  • Did you know?  The biggest rainbow trout ever caught was in Canada in 2009. The fish weighed 48 pounds. Stories have been told of larger fish caught, off the record of course!
  • Fishing Tip: Rainbow trout have smaller mouths than other trout, so hook only half a nightcrawler and give him freedom to wiggle. 
  • Conditions: The water temperature is currently 63 degrees. Helix Water District will begin filling the lake with about 10 million gallons of water per day through the end of the month. Be aware of changing shorelines. 
  • Winter Break Lake Hours: We will be open DAILY for boating and fishing 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. between December 20th and January 5th. The lake will be closed on Christmas Day, but fishing from the campground shoreline is available.
  • FREE boat launch Tuesdays! Boat launches will be free on December 24th and 31st.
