Fishing should be good now through February. John Pato ice fishing derby is February 1st with a twenty dollar entry fee. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and third place with lots of raffle prizes. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Always check ice thickness before walking out on ice. I drill a test hole once on ice. Ice is generally thinner at the shoreline.

Ice is around 5 – 6 inches thick. Recently a 5lb rainbow was caught around the dam area using crawlers. Never go out on ice alone and I bring a rope when ice fishing. Recent storm making shore fishing difficult. Mallard Cove and Coot Bay still fishing good. North end Fairview Point and Mosquito Slough freezing up. Fishing has still been productive. ......
