East Walker River
Right now the East is running at about 69 cfs, this is up from 20 cfs which is where it was for most of the Winter. Of course we’ve had mixed reports from the river lately but most of the reports have been pretty good. Nymphing seems to be the best technique lately, plus we’ve had a few good reports on streamers but we haven’t had any news on dries lately. We have had some good reports from the Nevada side as well and there are some stoneflies starting to show up down there. Now that March has arrived the flows may fluctuate now and then so keep your eye on that when you’re planning a trip. The weather has been pretty good lately with just some wind and light snow flurries but nothing has stuck lately.
Patterns to try: Poxyback stone, micro stone, flashback emerger, WD-40, psycho prince, squirmy wormy, rainbow warrior, silver streak, San Juan worm, zebra midge, zuddler, moal leech.
Sceirine Ranch
We haven’t had much traffic on the ranch lately though the one report we did get in recent weeks was pretty good. The seemed to be liking stonefly nymphs, worms and soft hackles the best down there.
Hunewill Pond
The pond is frozen for the time being, hopefully in late February or March it will thaw and we’ll get back at it.
