Last day of Summer weather before returning to Winter! Flows are holding near 400 cfs so the river remains open to fishing but you can always call the low flow hotline (707-944-5533) to double check. New fish continue to move through in small numbers with both hatcheries receiving about 200 fish each last week. Local action was good this morning with fish being caught near Guerneville by both gear and fly fisherman. Jigs under a float continue to be the big winner with swung comets and bosses producing for the fly fisherman. Rain chances are back Saturday with anywhere from 0.25" to 1.5" depedning on location in the Russian River valley. A freshet will definitely help. Don't forget both the low flow and bait season close April 1 as well as all of the coastal rivers.
Tight lines and the best way to not get covid-19 is to stand in a river fishing far away from people!!
