The good news is that the dry fly action is picking up and if you just want action below the bridge is loaded with planters. The bad news is that the weather is suppose to be evil this weekend but improving during the week. The spawning Cutthroats and Rainbows are still scattered throughout the system but soon to be back in the lake. There are fish feeding on the surface but most of them are the little guys. The bigger fish and migratory planters tend to hold in the deeper holes and attractor patterns such as Prince nymphs, San Juan worms and egg patterns are working best.
WARNING! The mosquitos are already out and the dreaded early season slime weed "migration" is on so the further downstream from the Hot Creek confluences the worse it gets.
