Hello everyone; Well today was a good day of fishing. But, there’s always a but. We had heavy loses today, as the larger Bluefin wanted to play today. At one point we were 0 for 10 on bait, and just couldn’t hook one on the kite. We had many fish blow out on the kite baits, but none would hold.
Largest Bluefin today was a 125 pound bluefin, caught on a single speed reel, and 50 pound test. It was a very long battle for the angler and crew. We also caught a handful of Yellowfin tuna in our count today. Most of the Bluefin landed were in the 35 to 50 pound range, with a handful of 70 to 90 pounds. The Yellowfin were in the 35 t0 40 pound range.
Weather today was excellent, with 8 to 10 knots of breeze, sunny and warm. We fished from sun-up to sun-down, and then some.
We are now headed home and will depart on our next 1.5 day trip tomorrow night. So until then, good luck and good fishing. Team R/p.
