The Truckee River is flowing great, but anglers should only try fishing in the early mornings or the last hour of the day. The water temperatures in the afternoons are reaching the 70s and fishing at this time could cause undue stress on the fish. Anglers should also concentrate on the fast pocket water where the oxygen levels are higher for the fish. Nymphing with caddis pupa, pale morning duns, blue winged olives, crayfish, and sculpin patterns are producing the best results right now. If you are fishing the last hour of light, fish are rising to caddis and pale morning duns.
