Captain Temo Verbooned, reporting for the fleet in Zihuatanejo, said the overall marlin fishing season is "great" and the boats are reporting many billfish opportunities everyday with the black, blue and striped marlin, along with bunches of sailfish schooling at about 10 miles outside the Bay. During the early part of the week, it was multiple strikes on the sailfish, which were aggressively chasing the rigged baits, but the bite slowed a bit toward the end of the week. Still, lots of fish everywhere but as Temo described it, "they got lazy" and slow to bite the baits. The inshore action remains red hot with Jack cravelle all over, coupled with big-eyed jacks, rainbow runners and bonito. The megabite lures, pencil poppers and live bait are getting bit fast, with multiples of jack trailing the lures.

I/Z Climate: Mostly sunny and warm, temps from 69 nights to 90 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Excellent water, light tropical surface breezes, almost no swell, temps from 82 inshore to 83 offshore.

Best Fishing Area: The offshore action begins at about 10 miles as the water gets super clean and blue.

Best Bait/Lure: Slow trolled rigged baits on the surface best for the sailfish and stripers. Rigged bonito in the down riggers best for the blacks/blues.

Bait Supply: Very good
