Water Conditions: Fair-Good
Flows went up and now they've come down to 40 cfs as of 10/15
Fishing conditions and Hatches: Good
Sorry the flows just dropped back down to 40cfs. Nighttime temperatures are in the 20's all week. Midday air temperatures are expected to be in the upper 60's to low 70's so water temperatures are good all day.
Both the mayflies and the midges are extremely small. Not a lot of surface activity, but early morning crane fly action can be good. Perch fry patterns should be working as well as daphnia patterns. Don't laugh, in the fall I've seen good BWO hatches where the fish will ignore them to eat a #32 Daphnia pattern, volume of food is the key. The perch fly patterns can be stripped or dead drifted under an indicator. If under the indicator and you're not getting grabs try lifting and dropping the indicator to give the streamer movement. Outside of the midges most of the hatches are at night so the fish aren't being picky, it's all about the presentation.
