According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the offshore billfish bite has been very slow and has not kicked back into gear since the full moon phase of 2 weeks ago. He says, "we are looking at the sailfish just a couple miles offshore, but can't get them to bite. Very frustrating for the anglers and the crews". The water temperatures and clarity is pretty good outside the 100 fathom curve and progressively gets better farther offshore, but still, the fish won't bite. At the moment, he recommends inshore fishing for those anglers that enjoy the light spinning tackle, as the area is saturated with jack cravelle, bonito, chulas and mackerel. The action is very fast using poppers, spoons, rapalas, feathers; everything works. It's really fun fishing.

Sea Conditions: From shoreline to 100 fathom curve, temps at 76 degrees, from the 100 fathom curve to the 1000 fathom curve, temps at 81 and outside the 1,000 fathom curve, rises to 83 degrees, all generally calm and very fishable.

Best Fishing Area: The offshore fish are in a "lock-jaw" mode and just won't take the baits or lures. The inshore bite at the "White Rocks" and along the shorelines to the north of the bay is excellent light tackle fishing with fast action for anglers for jack cravelle and bonito.

Bait Supply: Excellent bait supply.
