THE FISHING WAS GREAT
THE WEATHER WAS GREAT
THE LAKE IS COMING UP GREAT
This week it seems the fish wanted to take what ever ya'll put in the water. Still no lunkers, but the anglers were just as happy with all the action. Many fishermen full limits ??? it even looked like a few over limit. Just a refresher ??? 5 fish per day, ten in possession.
Talking about lunkers, there is a RUMOR going around that a 14-pound Brown came out of Lake Sabrina around the Opener. We didn't see it, nor did we hear it from anyone around the lake, nor did we hear any yelling and a screaming from the DingleBerry Inlet way (which I would have been doing if I had caught that fish). Supposedly it took first place in one of the Derbies happening that weekend. If someone has a picture of that fish, we sure would like a copy.
The DingleBerry Inlet and Little George Inlet were two of the destination for boats and some hearty hikers. While behind what gets to be Big Island and in front of the spillway were a couple other hot areas. Like Rick said, there wasn't much that turned these hungry hold-overs away from fishermen's lines. Department of Fish and Game got a stocking in Friday and will continue to stock the lakes and surrounding creeks with pan-size fish every week for the season.
Finally, finally, we woke to a glassed-off lake Sunday morning, What's so special about that you ask ??? NO WIND, not even a little breeze. We've had wind since the Opener, yes it helped when the lake was iced-over, but enough is enough. Howard (our local weather guesser) @
www.MammothWeather.com was on vacation, so we're really not sure what's in store for us, but listening to the Weather Channel, it appears we're in for some pretty nice weather. Temps were in the upper 60's for the highs and the mid 40s for the lows. Bishop was just down-right HOT.
All the lakes on the Sabrina side are open, except North Lake and that road hasn't been graded yet. We hear there are a few pretty substantial rock on the road ??? so maybe another week. Also, we are so fortunate to have the return of the skeeters ??? yup ??? big and bad as ever. The first of the season usually are, so remember your SKEETER JUICE!
REMEMBER, IF YOU PUT ON BUG JUICE, SUN SCREEN OR FOO FOO JUICE, WASH YOUR HANDS! THEN RUB THEM IN WORM GOO, TROUT ATTRACTANT OR POWERBAIT - GET THE OTHER SCENT OFF!
Also, don't forget your sunscreen and dark glasses as the snow (yes, there is still snow around the lake) is soooo bright, they just might blind your eyeballs. PONCHOS or COATS MAY ALSO BE NEEDED - YOU NEVER KNOW!
ALWAYS PACK A JACKET! ! ! !
You all have a great week and if the stress gets too great, you all know where to come to get some relief! But, remember you don't need to be stressed to come. WE JUST WANT TO SEE YOU SOON!
Bryon and Linda are due in this week ??? WOO-HOO! ! ! ! !
