The recent storm cycle has really improved fishing at the lake. Seems as if the combination of wind and precip has been able to raise the water temps a few degrees and encourage the fish to move into the shallows with some more regularity. The approach can vary, stripping or indicator, daily so be prepared with both rigs.
A couple tips to think about:
When fishing a floating line don’t fish too deep. The fish will most often eat in an upward direction. Progressively deepening until you find the fish feeding/cruising depth.
When fishing a sinking line, shorten the leader to 20″-24″ to first fly and 24″-36″ to second fly. This will allow your sinking line to do the work getting the flies close to the bottom and have the angler keep a good connection.
