What's the catch? The bass bite was strong this weekend. Most were coming out of Siesta Cove and the shoreline opposite the boat dock. Swimbaits and Brush Hog were doing the trick. You're going to need to be crafty to catch the trout. Our rangers recommend a 4 lb. test and chartreuse or green pumpkin Powerbait. Fish from a shady shoreline on bright, sunny days. Easter Eggs-perience at the Lake! The bunny will be at the lake before opening on Easter morning to hide his golden eggs with great prizes inside. Prizes could be fishing permits, hats, kayak rentals, etc. And then, catch a peek of the bunny barge! Socially distanced pics with the bunny are encouraged. Be sure to tag Lake Jennings!
Did you know? The idea of the Easter bunny giving candies and eggs is said to have originated in Germany during the Middle Ages with the first written mention of this tradition dating back to the 16th century. Dutch settlers in Pennsylvania brought the bunny to the United States in the 1700s.
Spring Photo Contest: This year's Spring Photo Contest theme is Life at the Lake. We welcome photos of camping, fishing, vistas, and people enjoying activities at Lake Jennings. Spring Break: The lake will be open daily for camping, fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, bird watching, and more March 19 - April 4! We're offering free boat launches on Tuesday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 30. For information regarding our daily hours during spring break click HERE.
Fireside at the Lake: Friday nights are for campfires! We have lakefront campfire pits for rent from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday nights. Use fees and advanced reservations are required. Rentals include firepit, wood, firestarter, and Adirondack chairs. Ask about our add on packages! Firepits are available for single households only, 4-6 persons.
