Roberto Marquez, Jr., (son of the owner of the Fish Cabo Fleet) landed the season's first verifiable blue marlin, while fishing aboard the "Tuna Time", with Captain Christian Lopez. In addition to the smaller blue marlin, the group of angling friends also released a striper and landed a couple of dorado and a couple of yellowfin tuna, all within just a few miles of the Cabo San Lucas Harbor. The blue, taken just outside the drop-off at "Cabeza Ballena", weighed-in at about 170 lbs. and had inhaled an artificial and was unable to be released. Overall combined fish counts for the fleet for 22 days fished reflected 1 blue marlin, 10 stripers, (6 released) 1 wahoo, 24 yellowfin tuna and 40 dorado. Still, lots of billfish being seen in the close to Cabo proximity, but not so eager to bite this past week, albeit, there were many opportunities to cast baits to the sleepers.

Cabo Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps from 72 nights to 99 daytime highs. Season's first tropical storm (TE1E) should pass by the tip of Cabo in a few days with winds at about 40 mph.

Sea Conditions: Excellent! 81-82 degrees from Cabo Falso and into the Sea of Cortez.

Best Fsihing Area: Just out in front of Cabo Harbor, off of Cabeza Ballena

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait is best, for sure, albeit, a few fish are being taken on the artificials.

Live Bait Supply: Good live bait supply, mostly caballitos.
