Flowing at an average of 425 CFS and water temperatures around 64 degrees, conditions could not be better on the Truckee River right now. Anglers are currently seeing hatches of green drakes, pale morning duns, caddis, and blue winged olives. Dry fly fishing in the evening has been consistent with caddis and pale morning dun hatches. Mid-day nymphing has been great using an 8 foot leader either euro style or with an indicator. Anglers should lighten up their split shot because the water has come down a bit. Hatches are more prolific around the stateline area and as anglers head towards Tahoe City, the hatches become less prominent.
