The end is near for shad anglers on the Sacramento, according to Richard Peeples at the Tackle Box in Chico. "We are seeing a lot of the larger female shad to four pounds, which means it's getting near the end of the run", observed Peeples. "There are also some nice stripers up to 18 pounds hitting right at dusk on topwaters for people heading out of Scotty's."
