http://www.sportfishingreport.comWe arrived at CHANNEL ISLANDS SPORTFISHING and were greeted by Flipper Thompson behind the counter and he soon had us signed in. The MIRAGE was just pulling into the harbor and tying up from it\'s previous trip. We watched the folks as they headed for their cars with full bags of fish, which got the folks waiting to head out pretty stoked for tomorrows fishing. We were soon boarding and everyone was getting rigged up and ready, Capt Tucker was first ticket for our trip with Capt Lou as 2nd ticket. We had Ryan and Miguel on deck and Chef Andrew in the galley, Capt Tucker gave us our safety talk and told us we going to make a quick stop at one of the squid boats who was giving us some fresh dead for tomorrow\'s fishing. We awoke at Santa Rosa Island and we were soon soaking either fresh dead squid and a couple folks were using some fin bait, unfortunatley we had no takers, other than a few bat rays and seals that got a few folks adreniline going. After a while of trying, we headed out to the rock fish grounds and fill our sacks. We did manage to get a couple exotics, we got 3 Sea Stars and 1 Rat fish, not what we were looking for. We loaded our bags with some nice rockfish and a few Sheephead and whitefish. Congrats to Willer Conner for his Jackpot Sheephead. If you want to give the MIRAGE a try, you can go to their website and sign up or you can give CHANNEL ISLANDS SPORTFISHING at 805-382-1612 to reserve your spots. If you would like any of these pictures you can email me at john@sportfishingreport.com and I will forward then to you.
