Donner Lake is fishing best early mornings and late evenings right now due to heavy boat traffic mid-day. If anglers are looking to fish mid-day, look in the deeper water columns. Shore fishing has been consistent using powerbait or inflated nightcrawlers. Kokanee fishing is currently best by China Cove and in front of the boat launch in the 40 to 50 foot water column. Anglers fishing for Kokanee should use pink koke-a-nuts behind a dodger, pink hoochies behind a dodger, or a wedding ring behind a dodger.
