Water levels are low on the Little Truckee River and not much water is being released from Stampede Reservoir into the river. Starting at 930am, there are a few hatches in the area, lasting until about noon. Because the water is low and clear, anglers should focus on using long leaders and stealthy tactics. Fish are mostly schooling near the Boca and Little Truckee Inlet. Some recommended flies to try are Rios Tail Water size 18, Black Zebra Midge size 18, Crystal Hunchback size 20, Burks Silhouette Dun, Cravens JuJu Emerger, or Dandelion Midge size 22.
