Success Lake fell to 9 percent of capacity, and some anglers reported great fishing while others reported being skunked. The bass have been chasing shad in the evenings and when anglers located the boiling fish, they filled the boat using crankbaits, jerkbaits, and topwater lures. During the day most anglers reported getting bite while throwing finesse plastics and crankbaits. Jigs, drop shot, and shaky heads have all been effective in 5 to 25 feet of water and near the trees. Crankbaits scored some bites in the mornings and evenings, and catfish ate cut baits, chicken liver, and dip bait.
