The flows on the Truckee River are minimal. With flows coming out of Lake Tahoe at around 1 CFS, the upper Truckee River can’t really be fished. Anglers’ should travel down to the Floriston and Farad area, where the flows pick up to around 70 CFS. Anglers should focus on fishing the ripples where there are higher oxygen levels, or fish the deeper poles. Some recommended bugs to try are October Caddis, Blue Winged Olives, or small midges.

FLOWS: Tahoe City 1 CFS, Glenshire 8 CFS, and Farad Exit 70 CFS
