With the flows up a bit and no fears of warm water maybe it's worth giving it another try. Also now that the water clarity has improved the fish will be spookier and won't get handled as much. Maybe a not so subtle hint, you can't get phone reception in the canyon so why not leave the phone/camera in the car and just go fishing. I know the saying is "without pictures it didn't happen" but so what. No ideas what's going on but it should be Baetis for another 1-2 months until it shuts down until february, otherwise it's midges and perch fry which should be 1-1/2 to 2 inches.
