For many outdoor enthusiasts the dawning of a new year means a few things, like getting the next years fishing license and making plans to attend one of the many outdoors shows scheduled the first few months of the year. One of the most popular for those of us in Northern California and Northwestern Nevada is of course January’s International Sportsmen’s Exposition in Sacramento. The 2022 ISE event is scheduled January 20-23 at Cal Expo.
While this last January’s event was cancelled due to covid restrictions, as of today, the 2022 event is still going forward. There are state mandated rules and restrictions posted December 15 that are in place for megaevent gatherings with over 1,000 indoor or 10,000 outdoor attendees. It is important to check the ISE or California state websites for the definitive rules and regulations prior to attending as another set of rules and restrictions may be set on January 15, 2022.
A thumbnail of the currently posted rules and restrictions is that all participants and attendees must either produce an approved full CDC vaccination record card or digital record with valid ID or have proof of an approved negative covid test as set forth on ISE and Ca websites. Also, masks are mandated at all times for indoor activities. Again, these current rules are subject to change at any time with a scheduled update for January 15.
